Generous Funding supports CHTH in 2022
April 2022
Chorley Help the Homeless were delighted to receive an incredibly generous donation of £4,000 from the Broughton Catholic Charitable Society for a third year. The BCCS first granted support to the charity in December 2019, again in December 2020, and has kindly provided a third year of support in March 2022.
Chorley Help the Homeless has spent over 25 years working with homeless and financially vulnerable people in the Borough of Chorley. In 2021, after providing support through the Covid-19 crisis, the charity outgrew its small premises on Clifford St and moved into a larger location on Friday St. This new larger drop-in centre - named The Gateway - allows CHTH to serve more people with food and advice, while providing a space to have hot food and drink. The move to The Gateway has been a very large endeavour for the charity, and so large funding support is incredibly useful.
Chorley Help the Homeless chairperson Ken Phillips said, "We would like to sincerely thank Mr Peter Van Parys, Mr Chris Jenner, and the Broughton Catholic Charitable Society. We are very excited about the opportunities this will provide to further strengthen our very important work. Their very generous support will add considerably to the impact we will be able to have over the next few years. We will ensure that their support to us will help to improve the lives of those experiencing, or threatened with, homelessness in the Chorley area."
